General description of Make and/or Model of this Motorcar:
The Lamborghini Huracán was the long awaited successor to the manufacturer's previous commercially successful Gallardo model. Introduced in 2014 the V10 now produced 602 bhp and with the proven AWD produced some pretty spectacular performance figures including a 0-62 mph in 3.4 secs and a 201 mph top speed. The removal of the Coupe' fixed roof in the subesquently launched Spyder derivative made the direct access to the characterful V10 even more intoxicating.
Apart from the scintillating speed and performance this model features "cylinder on demand", which causes one bank of cylinders under part load or a trailing throttle to be deactivated. This results in dramatic increase in fuel efficiency for a 200mph supercar and CO2 emissions are 14% lower than those of the preceeding Gallardo, whilst also boasting increased power and fuel efficiency. The proven 7 speed DCT remains in this evolution and changes as rapidly and smoothly as you would expect. The spyder chassis is 40% stiffer than it's predecessor meaning there is not performance penalty over a Coupe on track and the clever hood mechanism results in the soft top retracting in around 17 seconds in speeds of up to 30 mph.
The Huracán Spyder results in a Lamborghini model with all the legendary drama and performance but with a semblance of usability around town. The V10 remains the star of the show and provides aural pleasure that today's turbo assisted engines cannot match.
