One of the best examples of an MP4-12c in the world

Our car was ordered in september 2011 and first registered in January 2011.

Well specified - it was supplied new by Mclaren London in the launch colour of Volcano Orange, with a leather and alcantara interior, carbon engine covers, carbon interior upgrade, contrast stitiching on dashboard, electric and memory seats, IRIS upgrade with sat nav and Meridian sound system, lightweight forged wheels and branded floor mats. The first owner resided in Kent and maintained the car with a full Mclaren service history, untill July 2016 when it was acquired by Mclaren specialist and broker Alastair Bols - who had supplied the car new to it's first owner when working at Mclaren London.

The car was supplied to it's next owner in May 2017 having covered approximately 4700 miles, the purchase criteria for the next buyer being to acquire one of the best and lowest mileage examples of a 12c available.

Since then it has been used sparingly as part of a car collection and has now covered a mere 7352 MILES.

Complete with all books, spare key, full documented Mclaren service history, and an ubroken chain of annual passed MOTs, this 12c presents in fantastic condition and must be one of the best examples of this increasingly collectible model available anywhere in the world.

General description of Make and/or Model of this Motorcar:

McLaren's first production road car since the legendary F1, the launch of the MP4-12c heralded the marque's first serious entry into the modern road-going supercar market with the first car's delivered in 2011.

Typically engineering focused, the MP4-12C used the world's first carbon-fibre MonoCell tub, created using a semi-automated Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process which resulted in a lightweight structure that was completed in 4 hours opposed to 3000 hours build time of the F1! This technology is still employed in the current range of Mclaren road cars. The 592bhp 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 engine was a collaboration between McLaren, Ilmor and Ricardo. Redlined at 8,500rpm but with 80% of its torque available from 2,000rpm, this engine blended unrivalled flexibility with huge performance, that is still right up there today. Harnessed to a 7 speed DSG gearbox, the key numbers included 0-60 despatched in 2.8 seconds and 0-100 in 6.0 seconds, running onto a top speed of 207 mph. The unit won "The International Engine of the Year Award 2013" and was the basis of later V8 models such as the P1 for another decade.

The model relied on the manufacturer's F1 technology - with the subsequently banned F1 brake steer which braked the inside wheel during high speed cornering to improve turn in and eliminate understeer and active aerodynamics. A real tour de force was the introduction of the Proactive Chassis Control - replacing mechanical anti roll bars with an interconnected system of hydraulics, which kept the car flat during cornering but also producing an amazingly supple ride on bumpy roads - an attribute even more relevant if you live in the UK...

Styling was handled by Frank Stephenson and today is acknowledged as supremely elegant and resolved exercise with clear Mclaren DNA, with dihedral doors from the F1. Production was carried out from the new Mclaren Paragon factory and approximately 3400 units were built with a 60/40 split between coupe and spider configurations.

Today the MP4-12c is rightly reverred as the cornerstone of the Mclaren road car legacy and even now with it's superlative real world performance on both road and track, compares favourably with the current crop of supercars 15 years later. Increasingly collectible, low mileage examples with full history are showing signs of appreciation and are firmly on collectors' radars.
