Exact Description of this Specific Motorcar

The Ruf CTR had its first appearance in April 1987 at the "World's Fastest Cars" contest of the American car magazine Road & Track where it was designated "The Fastest Production Car in the World". It did 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.0s, 0-100 mph (161 km/h) in 7.3s, 0-124.3 mph (200 km/h) in 10.5s,  1⁄4 mile (402m) in 11.7s reaching 133.5 miles per hour (215 km/h) and reached a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h), beating the competition by 10 mph (16 km/h). Paul Frère shouted "This is faster than I've ever gone in my life!" during a ride.

Here we present a really fabulous example of a "Yellowbird" CTR - this is one of a handful of examples that were converted by the RUF factory after the original production run of 29 cars. With 469 bhp & 408lb/ft of torque to propel a mere 1150kgs - this car is really is quite thrilling to drive and handles exquisitely.

There is plenty of information on the Yellowbird CTR on the web - and having driven this car on a photoshoot recently - the performance figures attirbuted to this model seem if anything conservative! Bear in mind the 469bhp figure was offered by RUF based on the lowest output they achieved on the dyno for their engines - figures of around 500 bhp were commonly bandied about for many of the cars. To put the CTR's performance in perspective - it has a better power to weigh ratio than that of an F40 and offers similar thrills when the boost arrives!

A rare opportunity.
