The Porsche 2.0 Cup is a racing series reserved for 2-litre short chassis early Porsche 911s prepared in accordance with FIA pre-66 regulations.
The series is part of the prestigious Peter Auto racing package and races at some of the most desirable international tracks with a mixture of professional and Gentlemen drivers.
The success of the series has had a direct impact on the values of the early 901/911 SWB models and now even basket case cars - if you can find them - command strong money and that is before you embark on a six figure build project.
It takes between 6 to 12 months to build a 2.0 Cup car depending on what you start with and therefore to be able to acquire a freshly built zero miles car ready to race presents a rare opportunity.
Built by Steve Monk renowned Porsche specialist - who currently prepares the Bryant’s front running car - for a gentleman that wanted to race in the 2 litre cup. This car was never raced and as a result is fresh out of the box. This 1965 shell, which in the right hands would be a front running car in the Peter Auto 2 litre cup series and has all the correct parts fitted to be competitive. The engine has billet rods, Mahle Porsche 906 pistons, big oil pump, Johnny Middleton heads, S Camshafts fitted and comes with its original Solex carbs. The gearbox has Afjos ratios fitted and the car has been built to full FIA spec. The car will be supplied with a full limited slip differential and will include an inspection carried out by Steve Monk prior to delivery.
Complete with a certificate of authenticity this car would also be highly eligible for numerous other FIA sanctioned events and even spirited trips to the pub for those of a sporting disposition.
Fresh from it's front running build specification the car merely needs an enthusiastic owner to savour what many see as the purest form of the 911 road and racecar recipe.
